Volunteer With Us
Make A Difference In Your Community
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation, without them we would not be able to offer many of the services we do!
Volunteering can help to make a real difference to people's lives, strengthen bonds to your local community and allow you to learn new skills.
Some of the voluntary roles we offer are:
Lunch Club Assistant
Handyman / Handywoman
A DBS check is required to volunteer with us, we will cover any such costs.
You can fill out our volunteer form in two ways:
1. Print out, fill in and post the form back to us - click here.

“I first got involved in SFN around 2015, I thought it would be a good way of encouraging my sister and late husband to get out and meet people. They were becoming more and more isolated for various reasons and I thought it would do them good. We attended the lunch club and really enjoyed it and made lots of good friends. I was then asked to become a telephone befriender, I really love talking to people and my personal circumstances mean I can’t get out and about as much as I’d like – befriending allows me that social contact whilst helping others too.
My preconceptions about organisations like SFN were so different to what it was really like, I have made met lots of lovely people and really made a difference in my community – it’s honestly the best thing I’ve ever done!”
